Interesting thread on another board about Chub and his recent struggles. Hoping to talk to him for a feature story on www.uponthewheel.net if he comes to Texas with the Outlaws later this month. People commenting that it's his age or not being able to adjust to the newer Rockets or his hard crashes in recent years or money. It may be a combination of all of the above for all I know?
To me, what will never get overlooked is we got to see a local racer develop into a dirt late model hall of famer right in our backyard. That's pretty cool! Not many guys anywhere can say they've won the World 100, DTWC, North-South 100, the Pittsburgher, the Dixie Shootout, the Hillbilly Hundred, and four consecutive STARS championships, among other regional highlights. An incredible resume!
