Hey guys, Just happened on to this neat forum and joined immediately. I live in Clarion County, Pa. and have been doing some research on long closed up circle tracks in Pa. and New York, this looks like a great place for info. It's fun, a bit depressing at times but, I enjoy it. I am presently searching out pictures and information pertaining to the old Pine Grove Speedway in Shippenville, Pa. which was a sanctioned NASCAR track, the was one NASCAR race run there, in 1951, won by Tim Flock, who was no slouch in NASCAR. The track was the site of a horrible accident in '57 that killed 2 spectators; The track closed not long after that. I am looking for info per who the promoters/owners were and other general information. There is one guy I know who ran there and is still around, though in poor health, Jim Colwell. I hope to discuss the track, which is still there and quite visible, with Jim soon. Thanks, Harley1.

Welcome Harley. Sorry you have no response, I pretty much hide in the winter. Most that come here are local to the northwest corner of PA, not sure if anyone here would have knowledge of that track. If so, it would be RA. He may poke around closer to racing season.
